Nice story. Did you ever see The Expanse? In season 2 or 3, a guy is racing a ship —livestreaming it at the same time—who decides to go through the ring gate and bites it. This reminded me a bit of that.
yeah, I’m a big fan of both the books and the show! Didn’t realise it, but it is indeed like that!
