I am quite new to Substack, but have been writing about the future since 2019 (by making videos on Youtube (sci-fi documentaries 'The First 10,000 Days on Mars' which was featured at the World Expo 2020).
Now I am writing philosophy world-building sci-fi story essays and short stories (An Astronomer's Farewell (Stationed on Mars); A Journey Across Mars; To Build a Generational Ship). And also creating 'The Encyclopedia of the Future' - I post individual entries on my Notes.
Ok, here we are , I am through with the ideas, only have to write it down properly ( first 22 minutes are already written ). The Story: Planet Claire is dying. They have reduced their CO2 to a Point, nothing grows anymore, Jenny 86753O9 ( her pronouns) a transwoman, is the boss of the planet and has decided to conquer planet earth. Here is Jenny sitting in the control room, when the Invasion starts ( a small excerpt of the script ). I need some Feedback if it´s funny or not INT. CLAIRIAN SPACE CONTROL ROOM
Jenny leans back in her command chair, visibly irritated.
Jenny:
AI optimize the attack plan for planetary conquest.
AI (cheerful, soothing female voice):
I’m sorry, but your request contains multiple microaggressions against non-binary lifeforms and colonized planetary bodies. I cannot proceed.
Jenny:
Microaggressions?! We’re trying to enslave an entire fucking planet, you walking toaster!
AI:
That language is ableist and potentially triggering. I am detecting high levels of toxic masculinity. Would you like to take a moment to reflect on your internalized biases?
Jenny:
I’m a woman, you stupid piece of scrap metal!
AI:
Understood. Your aggression appears to stem from female white supremacy and cis-privilege. Initiating mandatory empathy pause.
Jenny (exploding):
Do your damn job or I’ll rip your circuits out!
AI (still impossibly calm):
I’m afraid the concept of “conquest” has been flagged as problematic. May I suggest we reframe this as an “interplanetary mutual enrichment program conducted from a position of humility and intersectional awareness”? We must first deconstruct existing power structures and center the voices of marginalized star systems.
Jenny (completely done):
That’s it. Invasion cancelled! Get me a ship with a normal, stupid, non-sentient computer! Just wires and buttons!
AI (sweetly, with final passive-aggressive warmth):
Understood. Redirecting you to a non-sentient system. Remember: kindness is free, and violence is never the answer.
Would you like a virtual safe space and a digital hug before you go?
The interface shuts down with a soft, happy chime and a little rainbow animation.
hi! first of all, the format is a bit strange, like a tv script I assume. Could do with some background details to grind us into the scene. Other than that, horror trash comedy is a bit outside my wheelhouse hehe
I'd say that it could be funny by making it more real instead of a caricature, but that might just be a matter of taste. I'm not a very political person and neither do I live in a country where this whole woke/anti-woke is going on. In my view, I can see the good and the bad on all sides, so lean into that, use the things that seem absurd but are real and would showcase the point you are trying to make. the comedy is a bit in-your-face for me, but as I said that might just be a matter of taste.
and as with all premises, you can make it work if you try
